7 years 7 month old, 128.6 proof

Bookers is part of the Small Batch Bourbon Collection, from the Jim Beam family. This is signature bourbon from Booker Noe, Master Distiller. This recipe goes back 200 years and bottled straight from the barrel. And straight from the barrel means it is uncut and unfiltered. This bourbon is very flavorful like vanilla, oak, and tobacco. This is a strong bourbon, being 128 proof, but it goes down smooth. The color is a strong deep amber color.

As you know I drink my bourbon neat, nothing touches it except the glass. On occasion I will add a cube of ice, but typically I have it neat. I would say this is one of my favorites but you need to be careful with this one. It will sneak up on you, and put its foot in your ass. You want to be sure to drink it slow, and not too many. This is meant to be enjoyed.

The first sniff will make you nostrils quiver a bit. Being high in alcohol this one you could just sniff all night and get good and toasted. But where is the fun in that. As you let it breath this one will mellow in the glass a bit, the burn is fantastic. It will warm your soul and straighten your hair.

If you are just starting out, this is one you probably should stay away from for now. I don’t think the flavor and taste would be too much for a novice but the proof is. This one truly will whoop your hind side quickly. But once you get a handle on how to drink and enjoy bourbon this is a must.

Bookers is a must have in any bourbon collection and should be enjoyed with friends.
