Saturday night we had our kids stay with their grandparents so that us adults could have some time together. We had a great night. We ate and had some drinks and played Wii bowling all night and had a lot of laughs. We even managed to get to bed at a reasonable hour.
I was in charge of dinner. So we started off with some steamers that I cooked in beer and garlic.
Next was our salad course that I made a twist on the traditional tomato and mozzarella salad and added field greens and made a red chili and garlic vinaigrette. They were mild chili's so it wasn't spicy hot.
Now for the main course. We wanted to have fish, so being in New England we went with Cod. So I sauteed up some leeks and mushrooms with garlic, added in some stock and wine then simmered the cod and a couple shrimp just long enough to cook the fish. and we had that over some Asian rice noodles.
This was a perfect evening. Looking forward to the next "night out".
OK, so I am a fan of home brews, BOURBON, and good food. Since everything is now shared on this thing called the internet I decided to start this blog to share my adventures with the world. I am putting my culinary education to work by reviewing many different bourbons, brews and food. Remember, always drink responsibly.
